Football Season and Road Construction Could Create Traffic Delays Near NC State
Football season is here
Football season is back, and that means traffic delays near NC State. The Wolfpack's first home game is Saturday, Sept. 1, against East Carolina. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Allow extra time for travel
The N.C. Department of Transportation is urging drivers to allow extra time for travel on game days. The following roads are expected to be heavily congested:
- Hillsborough Street
- Western Boulevard
- Avent Ferry Road
In addition to football traffic, road construction could also slow down traffic near campus. The following projects are currently underway:
- Hillsborough Street between Pullen Road and Dixie Trail is being repaved.
- Western Boulevard between Hillsborough Street and Centennial Campus Drive is being widened.
- Allow extra time for travel.
- Take public transportation or ride sharing.
- Park off-campus and walk or take a shuttle to the stadium.
- Avoid driving during peak traffic times.
