UH’s Alexander, Lang Named to Big West Preseason Team, ‘Bows Projected to Finish 2nd
Preseason Baseball Honors Roll in for Hawaii Baseball Team
University of Hawai'i baseball standouts Scotty Scott Alexander (outfielder) and Aaron Aaron Lang (pitcher) were honored for their performances on the All-Big West Preseason Team, the conference announced Wednesday.
Alexander, a fifth-year senior from Seattle Mariners, batted .352 with three home runs and 33 RBI in 2022.
Lang, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, went 5-5 with a 4.75 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 68.0 innings last season.
The Rainbow Warriors were picked to finish second in the Big West Preseason Coaches Poll, which was also released on Wednesday.
UH, which went 31-22 overall and 16-10 in the Big West last year, received one first-place vote and 83 total points in the poll.
Cal State Fullerton was picked to win the conference with 95 points and seven first-place votes.
The 'Bows open their 2023 season on Feb. 17 at home against Washington State.
